Jayde Review...

Jayde Blog Tour Banner

Synopsis

For months now Jayde Kimberland has been touring from city to city with her best friend, Arianna Moore, as The Daughters of Darkness. Living the dream most musician would kill for, they were known as the opening act for the platinum selling rock group, From Yesterday.
With Arianna battling demons of her own, Jayde found what she thought was her Prince Charming within rocker bad boy, Cash O’Brien. As the tour came to a close, the distance between them pulled like the tuning key turning to tighten one of their guitar strings. When Nate Daniels walks back into the picture, she’s faced with the possibility of having the life with the man she loved years ago or trying to hold onto a reckless, Cash.
Everywhere Jayde turns she is hit with a curve ball, shattering everything she tries to build. But one person is there to help pick up the pieces no matter what. But as tragedy reveals its ugly head, she finds herself lost, lonely, and confused on what the future may hold. Will she be able to let go of the past and find happiness within her future or will she have to forever deal with the shattering effects of a love long gone?

Top View Of Playful Young Couple Enjoying In Bed

Excerpt

My black lace dress clung to my soaked body as I sobbed uncontrollably against the old oak tree. With one hand pressed against my heart I squeezed my eyes tightly shut, trying to remember the last thing he had said to me. “I love you, Jayde, with all my heart. Give Sawyer a kiss for me, I’ll be home after the show.” My body continued to heave as my knees gave out and I crumbled to the ground. The sky roared with thunder and lightning; usually I would have been scared shitless to be out in this stuff but right then I didn’t care what happened to me. I just wanted it all to be a horrible dream…and I would wake up with a racing heart but find him beside me in our bed instead of buried in the ground.
“This can’t be real!!” I wailed loudly into my hands, where my head was now resting. I had no energy to lift my body from the ground, not that I wanted to. But if I didn’t get out of the storm I would most likely be sucked up into it. I remembered losing my parents at a very young age but the one thing I did not remember was how badly my heart ached from having someone ripped from your life at the drop of a hat.
Everything was perfect…too perfect. Any time in my life when things seemed to fall together, something had always come along to wreak havoc and remind me that my life would never be perfect. I should have gone to the show; if I was there…I could have stopped it from happening and we would be together…in our home. One big happy family.
“Baby girl…” That voice cut right through me. Was it bad of me to want to allow him to help me? After everything he had done…and after everything I had done? I didn’t even bother to look up; I continued to pour every ounce of emotions I had out through my tears and onto my soaking wet self. “Let me get you out of this storm…You’re going to be sick and Sawyer needs you.” He scooped me up into his arms; the warmth of his skin caused me to gasp. I circled my arms around his neck and rested my head against his shoulder. “I know this sounds cliché and I’m fucking horrible with words…but it’ll get better with time, Jayde. I promise you…” His voice was thick with emotion.
His kindness only caused me to cry even harder. I was a horrible person…I didn’t deserve happiness, and I definitely didn’t deserve him being kind to me right now. I heard the car door open just before he lowered me into the passenger’s seat. When the door shut I finally looked at him through the rain streaked window. His hair was shorter than usual but my heart still fluttered uncontrollably at the sight of him. What the hell is wrong with me? I shouldn’t feel this way, not today… I curled my legs up into the seat with me and wrapped my arms around them tightly. Resting my head against my knees I stared out the front window as the driver’s door shut.
“Is there anywhere you want me to take you?” His voice was just above a whisper. Without moving my eyes from the front window I shook my head no. “Do you want to go home?” Home…Where all the memories were… The thought of walking back into that house caused a horrible sob to rip from my chest. Wasn’t there a limit of tears a person could produce? I buried my face into my knees to ride out the emotional rollercoaster I was on yet again.
“I’m staying at Aria and Bryden’s place while I’m in town. How ‘bout I take you there?” I didn’t respond, after a few long seconds I felt the car shift into gear. He pulled his jacket from the backseat and draped it over me. I hadn’t realized my body was shaking so badly until then. I rolled onto my side facing the door, gripping the jacket tightly around me, and fell into a silent cry, the kind where your body shook aggressively but you didn’t produce any noise. I felt his warm hand touch my arm lightly causing even more goose bumps to run across my skin. “Seeing you like this is killing me right now…” His hand ran up and down my arm briefly before it was gone and the coldness was back.

This book broke my heart again and again...
I have never read a book that could make me cry as much as Jayde.
In the first chapter I knew I was going to be shattered by what I read and boy was I right !
It starts off at a funeral for her significant other. You don't know if it was Nate or Cash that died. You don't know how he died. You just know that the other is helping her.
This author did a damn good job of drawing the mystery out .
I was truly impressed but I will admit frustrated too. Yes I went to the back of the book and PEEKED :(
I didn't read the first book in the series as it says they can be read as standalones , but I loved this authors style so I am definitely going hunting for more. I can't wait to read poppy and Rileys story.  I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great book with a lot of emotions.

Inspire Me Review...

On a stormy night in Portland, Oregon, cynical ad exec Lily Bishop crashes into a stunning classic car driven by a dark, handsome stranger with strong hands. His powerful touch makes her remember old dreams she thought she abandoned twenty years ago. Back then, she traded her MFA in photography for a lucrative advertising position that twists people’s deepest desires into just another data point.

Though he’s struggling to take his hot rods to the big time, mechanic Raine Reyes won’t accept help from anyone -- certainly not an uptown woman like Lily whose miles-wide reckless streak brings out the repressed bad boy in him. He knows he should run from her offer to be the new face of her next expensive advertising campaign, but he’s too tempted… by her. He sees right through her to the forgotten needs, the neglected fantasies, and the woman she always wanted to be.

We start out in Portland, with Lily crashing into another car and meets a handsome stranger. His touch is powerful and she has flashbacks to twenty years ago. She traded her MFA in photography for an advertising position. Raine doesn’t want to accept help from anyone. He definitely doesn’t want help from Lily. He wants to run from her offer but he’s tempted by her. He sees the real her and wants to make her the woman she could be. Lily accidently sends pictures of Raine to a potential client and that is how Raine got offered the modeling job. He wants to be around Lily. They have a connection but neither of them wants to admit it. I really enjoyed this book. It was different. The threesome kind of threw me off. I guess I wasn’t expecting it. "Still kissing her, he kicked the step stool back and levered her knee up so he could step between her spread legs. One step and he'd pin her on the counter. He really should give her another chance to walk away. But where his T-shirt had pulled out of his jeans, she curled her fingers behind his belt into the waistband and tugged him closer."
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

Hypnotized Review...

Hypnotized
A new adult romance by Lacey Wolfe
Paisley
I’m discovering who I am in this world. Venturing out on my own, away from my parents, and finding out what life is really all about. College isn’t as easy as I thought it would be, especially with my best friend Evan becoming someone I hardly recognize.
But then I met Gabe. He changed everything. My life will never be the same.

Gabe

I lived my life day to day, waiting for something great to happen.
Then she walked into the coffee house, with her long legs and killer smile. I had to know her. Nothing was going to stop me. She hypnotized me from the moment I laid eyes on her.
And after the first kiss, my fate was sealed to Paisley.

Kristy and I found ourselves a corner. I sipped a little more of my beer, finally getting the bottle a little more than halfway gone. Nursing the drink probably wasn’t the best idea, but as long as I kept this in my hand, I didn’t feel like such a loser. Maybe my friends were right. It was time to quit taking the easy route. I needed to have fun.
“Who is that hot guy? I think he’s checking you out.” Kristy poked my side.
I followed her gaze. Gabe.
“Go talk to him.” She pushed me.
“I, uh, I already did.”
Her eyes lit up. “Seriously? Well, who is he?”
I shrugged. “I met him before work at a coffee shop. He stared at me the whole time. Then tonight, when he got here, he watched me like he is now.” I should feel self conscious, but I didn’t. “As I waited for you, he came and talked to me, but Evan chased him away. To be honest, he’s freaking me out a little.” Kind of, but he intrigued me so much more.
“He can’t keep his eyes off of you.”
She was right. Even as he spoke to the guy with him, his eyes never left me. My heart raced. I honestly didn’t know what to think. It wasn’t like I’d never dated before. I’d had a few boyfriends in high school, but nothing serious.
“Go talk to him,” Kristy pressed.
“Who?” Evan showed up at just the right time. Go figure.
“No one,” I said quickly.
“She’s being silly. That guy.” Kristy pointed. Great, now he knew we were talking about him.
“She needs to stay away from him.” Evan put his arm around me again, only now he put a little more weight against me. If I didn’t think he’d fall, I’d have moved.
Kristy stared at Evan’s arm a moment then asked, “Why? He’s hot.”
“I don’t know. But my roommate says he’s trouble.”
Of course he was. He parked his bike wherever he wanted. “I need to use the restroom. Hold my drink.” I handed it to Kristy.
I wandered around the house. It was two stories, surely they had a restroom down here, but I didn’t find one. I headed up the creaky stairs. Sounds of groaning welcomed me at the top, making me giggle. Some people were having a lot of fun.
After using the restroom, I checked my appearance in the mirror. I turned by head back and forth. Maybe I did need to let my hair down. Tugging the elastic out, I let my long locks fall over my shoulder. I fluffed it with my fingers. The crease wasn’t so bad, and besides, more than half the people here were drunk. They weren’t going to care how my hair appeared.
I left the bathroom and stopped in my tracks. Leaning against the opposite wall was Gabe.
“Uh, hey again.” I grinned awkwardly.
“Having a good time?”
“I guess.”
A girl walked up wobbly, holding the wall the whole way. She pushed me out of the way, slamming the bathroom door. Now I stood close to him. Near enough I could touch him if I wanted.
“You sure that guy isn’t your boyfriend?”
I nodded. “Positive.”
“He comes across like he is.” His blue eyes bore in to mine.
“Well, he isn’t. Why would I lie?”
He shrugged. “Walk with me.”
I glanced around. We were upstairs, and there wasn’t anywhere to go. I knew once I went down stairs and Evan saw, he’d stop us. “It’s not a good idea.”
“Why?”
I leaned closer to him, inhaling his intoxicating scent and said, “From what I hear, I should stay away from you.”
He chuckled. “Is that so? And what do you think?”
I think I should see where he wants to take me, but I didn’t say that. “I don’t know you.”
“Then get to know me. Come on. One little walk. What could go wrong?”
The bathroom door opened and the drunk girl reemerged. “Awesome party!”
I laughed and watched as she concentrated on walking. Poor girl. I hoped she made it down the stairs.
“So?” He raised an eyebrow.
It was tempting. Take a walk with him, talk, get to know him, and find out why everyone thought he was trouble. “I think I’m going to pass.”
The cutest smirk I’d ever seen appeared on his face. “Paisley, you’re really going to make me work, aren’t you?”
The sound of my name on his lips was like music. “How did you know my name?” That was stupid, he could’ve asked someone.
“From the coffee shop when you got a drink.”
“Oh, yeah.”
He reached out and brushed a lock of hair from my face. My breath caught when his fingers lightly touched my skin, and I swear every nerve was on end.
“I like a good challenge.” He walked away, leaving me standing there, speechless.

I had to wait for like a week to write this review it was so good.  I finished this book in about five hours while at work (so I had to keep stop reading which was irritating).  I couldn't stop reading and I say this about every single book Lacey writes but this is the best one yet.  Lacey weaves a tale that includes love, friendship, starting school, and even a drug issue.
I love Paisley's story.  She is a girl who is about to leave home for the first time and try the college experience.  She meets a guy and she falls hard and fast for him.  But she also has to deal with the realization that her best friend is going down the path of starting to use drugs and the fact that he seems to have fallen for her.
I want to read more about these characters.  I fell hard for them and this little college town.  This is Lacey's first New Adult book and it is AMAZING!!!

Just One Night Review...

JUST ONE NIGHT: Sex, Love and Stiletto Series
Written by Lauren Layne
Published by Loveswept
ISBN: 978-0-34554727-9
On sale:
April 22nd, 2014

New York’s hottest “sexpert” has been living a lie—and it’s up to one man to keep her honest . . . all night long.
Riley McKenna knows sex – good sex, bad sex, kinky sex…Her articles in Stiletto magazine are consistently the publication’s most scandalous—and the most read. But Riley has a secret…all that sexy talk? Not an ounce of it comes from personal experience. Her own bedroom escapades are more limited than even her best friends know. When her editor requests that all columnists write something more personal for Stiletto’s anniversary issue, Riley turns to the one man she’s always been able to count on and calls in the favor of a lifetime.

Sam Compton would do anything for Riley McKenna. Anything except be her experimental sex toy. He refuses her request. At least until she tells him that it’ll either be him or she’ll go to someone else. And that, Sam can’t accept. Reluctantly he agrees to her terms—one night of completely meaningless sex in the name of research. Riley thinks she’s prepared for what awaits her in Sam’s bed.  After ten years of writing about sex, actually doing it shouldn’t be that different, right? So wrong. What starts as “one time only” becomes “just one more time.” And then one more. And before they know it, Riley and Sam learn first-hand that when it comes to love, there’s no such thing as just one night.

Reviewed by Erycka:

Not having read anything from Ms. Layne before, I’m elated to say this was a great first read, and even though this is the third book in the series, I didn’t feel at all lost.

In Just One Night we are reintroduced to Riley. She is a twenty-seven year old sex columnist, great friend, wonderful daughter, loyal sister, and wanton for a man she can’t…or shouldn’t want. Sam. Riley’s older brother’s best friend. Hot. Sexy. Available…yet off limits. The sexual tension between the two is palpable. And the build up is full of angst, humor, lust driven behavior, and tears.

The relationships Riley has with her girlfriends is one to be envied, or aspire to. They love one another unconditionally, tell each other like it is, and are there with their shoulders prepped when needed.

I laughed, cried from laughing so hard, swore and swooned my way through this book. I will be one-clicking the other two books in this series and highly recommend you do too!

4.5 STARS!!

I slide my hand up the outside of her thigh, adjusting myself in the process. She glances at me with her beautiful blue eyes. They drop to my lips and back again as my hand moves into the slit of her dress. Like I said, this is what she wanted when she bought this bad boy.

Her forehead rests on mine as our bodies move to the lyrics that Prince sings so passionately. I want her and she knows it, she wants me too. I can feel it in the way her body is pressed against mine. My fingers brush against her, moving what little scrap of fabric that she calls panties out of the way. I shield her as much as possible from prying eyes as my fingers dip into her folds. I stifle a groan when I feel how wet she is. Her head moves down to my neck, she bites me lightly as I increase my movements. She moans softly in my ear as she grinds against my hand.
