Beasty Series Reviews...

Title- Beast Within
Series-Beasty # 1
By- Tyffani Clark Kemp

Gabriel Slade runs Hollywood with his gorgeous blue eyes and egregious temper. No one knows that underneath it all is a man with a frozen heart, cursed to become a beast at every full moon. For seven days he has no choice but to roam the earth as a vicious animal, until he meets a woman who can change it all.

Luna Grace has a hatred for everything Gabriel Slade stands for, but she doesn't even know what he looks like. When a chance encounter reveals feelings Luna never knew she harbored, it stands to reason that she would run.

Can Luna overcome her hatred and break the curse? Or will Gabriel's temper keep her from realizing her true feelings, dooming him to remain the beast forever?

I don't think I have truly met a book I did not like , I more than like this. It was well written with a few twists and turns on beauty and the beast .
I thought I knew the story but boy was I wrong.
There is a bit of a cliffhanger that had me yelling at my kindle but I think if it is written half as well as this book I will love it.
Oh Gabriel... My heart is thumping just thinking of that sexy beast .

This is the second (and final ,I believe)book in the beast series.I was impressed with the first one but this book blew it out of the water.
Beast within was all about Luna falling in love with Gabriel and then having to let him go.
This book totally switched everything I thought it would be. Their son is so darn funny .
I love the way they come together in this as it's not all peaches. I will read this again and while it's not necessary I hope she writes another book on this awesome family .

Me an author? Hmm...guess we'll see!

So I have three Works In Progress going right now and while I am really hoping to be able to finish all three of them this year I would be happy just finishing one of them.  None of them is currently over 20,000 words as of yet and I want them to be a decent length so I have some work cut out for me.  I literally just came up with titles for them all minutes ago (usually when I write stories I just use the main characters initials for the title but since I want to start trying to do the whole publishing thing I went ahead and titled them).

  • Let Love In - follows Bentley and Adam as she struggles to let him in after a string of bad relationships and decisions.
  • Love Triumphant - follows Jordan and Travis as they finally dive into their own feelings at last.
  • Journey Just Begun - follows Abigail (Abby or Ab) and Kyle as they start a new journey together after keeping their love a secret for so long.
Journey Just Begun and Love Triumphant I have been working on for some time now but the characters just stopped talking to me.  I have recently been able to get a little bit of work done on Love Triumphant but not too much.  In order to get some work done on Love Triumphant I have set Let Love In aside the last couple days, Bentley and Adam have led me down an insane road and I needed to step away for a bit to see if where they lead next will work with the rest of the story.

I have been writing stories since I was in Middle School.  I would sit in class with my notebook and pen and write stories instead of paying attention in class.  Not to mention I still got good grades.  I still prefer to write my stories in notebooks but that isn't as feasible anymore.  I am currently working two jobs and going to school online for English so I really don't have that much time to write (which is why I'll be lucky to finish one book).

I love to read as well and have recently gotten into the Indie craze that is happening, which is helping me feel a little more comfortable with getting my own books out there.  I am a blogger as well and you will see a few posts on here with reviews of other authors books.  In becoming a blogger/reviewer I have read a bunch of books that I wouldn't deem all that great myself but to each their own and it has helped me gain confidence in my own writing skills.  I have also gained confidence from some of my favorite new authors.

In the near future I hope to be able to quit my second job and become a book editor, as well as writing my own books and being a librarian.  I want to use my English degree for more than just writing and I do not in the least want to teach.  I hate being in charge of anything...lol.

On the facebook page I have been posting excerpts from Let Love In and even have pics of who I think the main characters would look like.  If you think I'm crazy that's fine but I am not a huge fan of the Sylvia Day or Fifty Shades type books so you will never see anything like that from me.  Don't get me wrong I love a steamy sex scene in a book and Love Triumphant has a few scenes like that right now, I just didn't like that kind of book.  Maybe that is the Mormon religion that is left in me talking I don't know.

I hope you keep up to date on the books and I'm hoping to be looking for Beta Readers for at least one of them soon.  If the Beta Readers enjoy them I guess I will have to start my own street team.  Only if my beta's like them though.  If you would be interested in being a Beta reader feel free to PM me on the Facebook Page... http://facebook.com/JourneyThroughWords and don't forget to like the page in order to get all the details on the books as they become available.

Excerpt
My eyes narrow. “If you ever even think about spanking me, I'm going to beat the crap out of you, Trevor.” His eyebrow rises. “You think you can take me?” “No.” I shrug. “But I will give it my best shot.” His smile is so devastating that it takes my breath. “When you’re giving it your best shot, are our clothes on or off?”

Until November Review:

I really enjoyed this book. It had the perfect amount of funny, sexy, and romance. This is my favorite type of book. November is trying to move on with her life. She is trying to get to know her father in the safety of a small town. We all know things happen in small towns. November was helping her dad at his strip club doing the books she meets Asher.  Asher always gets girls, the typical hot guy. But when he meets November, she is all he can think about. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There is so much that makes this book awesome! I highly recommend it! I give it 5 out 5 stars!

Until Trevor Review:

I was excited to read Until Trevor because I loved Until November so much! Trevor had his life all set. He knew what he wanted in his life. He wanted to make his family business successful and then meet as many women as he could and then settle down later on in life. The he sees Liz and she is everything that Trevor could ever want in a woman. But he rejects her and so Liz tries to move on. Trevor is having a hard time actually letting her go. It is very much a roller coaster ride. I enjoyed the ride of seeing what Trevor and Liz were going to do. This book was good. But I liked Until November a lot more that Until Trevor. It was still a good read though. I recommend it! I give it 4 out of 5 stars!

November is looking forward to getting to know her father and the safety of a small town. After leaving the Big Apple and her bad memories for Tennessee, November starts working for her dad at his strip club doing the books. The one time she’s allowed there during club hours she runs into Asher Mayson. He’s perfect until he opens his mouth and makes assumptions. November wants nothing to do with Asher but too bad for November, fate has other plans.
Asher Mayson has never had a problem getting a woman, that is until November. Now all he can think about is making November his and keeping her safe. Warning 18+ sexual content and a strong Alpha Male.

5+ stars!!!! I would give more if I could.
It made me cry which is super great in a book. If it evokes that emotion it means I have been sucked in emotionally.
I also received a few weird looks from my husband for laughing like a hyena...what can I say , it's funny!!!
I absolutely love this book. I was just going to read a few pages but I got sucked in and now it is 3 AM ! I need to go back and find the others as it seems like a great series.
The couple in this one ,Abby & Jackson are best friends that while having slept together a few times just didn't know how to really ignite the flame for a long-term relationship. She has loved him forever but he is a bit thick in the head.
I can't wait for the next one.
FYI this is a complete novel . No cliffhanger....at least for Abby and Jackson..

Attainment (Book 1) Reviews:

Erycka's Review:

This is definitely one of those books that I had to push through, and I’m glad I did. Ms. Cardwell dropped a bombshell in the prologue. I was so taken aback that I actually had to put the book down for a couple of days. I contemplated walking away from it completely. Not because I hadn’t read about rape and the after affects, but because I didn’t want to read another ‘girl gets raped, girl can’t handle life’ story. Not to mention, I felt like Ms. Cardwell was all over the board in the prologue. I had a difficult time following the conversation and keeping track of whom was speaking and how many hands the rapist had. This too, got better.
As Reese’s story unfolds, she’s faced with friends that aren’t really ‘friends.’ At least not the kind of friends she needs in her life. She makes (or what seems) one bad decision after another regarding the ‘men’ in her life and not truly learning her lesson. She is continuously let down by them, yet she keeps going back.
Her involvement with John is just disturbing. It makes me wonder if this piece was necessary. The wavering between Tate and Carter made my blood boil. Tate just made me angry.
The twists and turns with the added Christian morals were all very interesting. It will be a ride in Atonement I’m sure. One I’m willing to take.
I give this 3/5 start.

Ashley's Review:

Oh my God!  I absolutely loved this book.  I fell in love with it from the beginning and couldn't wait to see what all would happen to these amazing characters.  I know this was an ARC copy of the book but I really struggled to read it due to all of the mistakes in grammar and formatting, but this should be cleaned up in the finished copy.

I loved reading Reese's story and truly felt for her as her story unraveled.  I immediately hated Carter, even before you hear about the incident.  I am still on the edge about Tate and I'm really not sure what his deal is, I hope to find out in book two.  However, I completely fell in love with John's character and he is.

This was a very busy book and it was full of information.  However it all melded together in the end.  This book is well worth the read and I highly recommend it.  Aside from the vast amount of grammar and formatting issues it was a great read.  The plot, character and themes/morals were all amazing and made up for the other issues.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

ATONEMENT REVIEW BY ASHLEY:

I literally just finished this book.  It started out extremely slow but wound up being really good.  I loved the Reese and John line in the first book and was routing for them but I wanted to kill John in this book what a major jerk he wound up being.  Tate and Reeses story was really strong in this one.

Once you get about 30% into it the story really flies by and gets good.  I can't wait to see if there is a third book and see what happens to this group next.  Once again the grammar and formatting were awful but that's expected from an ARC.  I would recommend these books to others because the characters and plot are really good and sound.

Rating:  4 out of 5 stars
